Everyone has a music taste. Or at least that's what we believe at Lurcher Records. In an age where music has become too easily accessible, vinyl and other forms of physical musical media are here to stay. Why can't — or perhaps the question should be, why shouldn't — everyone have the ability or option to own their own piece of musical history? For us, it doesn't matter if you prefer Taylor and Grande or Zappa and Beefheart, it's the music that you love. We can all jump on streaming sites and play the music, we certainly do that, all the time. But there is a time and place for everything and we truly believe that vinyl has its place, for all to enjoy.
Hello, my name is Oliver and I am the founder of Lurcher Records. Since I can remember I have been "into music". An easy line, but hard to explain. Everyone is into music. So it's hard to narrow down on why it is so special to me.
I remember as a young man being influenced by what my Mum and Dad listened to, like most young, impressionable people. Ironing for my mum, listening to Motown CDs burns possibly the brightest. My mum loved Motown but her biggest passion was — and still is — Bowie. An influence that has contributed to me starting my own record collection and ultimately led me to starting Lurcher Records. My Dad has similar tastes, but leans a little heavier on the New Romantic Bryan Ferry era. So that's a bit of me too now! And then it just evolves I guess. Beatles, Floyd and Doors through to Kendrick Lamar, Wu-Tang and Dre. And pretty much everything in between.
I hope my passion for everything music shines through and you enjoy browsing and buying the music through Lurcher Records.
